Morphing Micas Before

This blog  will show what can happen to certain micas when making cold process soap!

The colorants for this recipe were: Cappucino Mica, Soft Beige Mica, Cellini Red Mica & Cellini Blue Mica. As you will see, the cappucino and biege colors remain true while the red and blue transform as the soap sapponifies.

2/3 of the batch was poured into the bottom of the mold, then 4 squirt bottles were used to layer the colors to create a peacock swirl. After the top colors are layered, skewers are drawn through to create the swirl efffect.

Morphing Micas Collage 2 Within the hour the Cellini Red had begin to turn orange. A few days later the soap had changed completely from red to orange and blue to purple!
